I want to better understand how to improve humanity's prospects for the long-term future.
How do we design better institutions with the far future in mind? They should make use of good epistemic norms, be reliably truth-oriented, be able to update on new evidence quickly, and safely enable increased rates of innovation.
How can institutional decision-making be improved?
Institutional critiques will bring us closer to understanding how we might improve things. Getting more serious about studying the future will help too.
I'm also interested in cryonics, longevity research, identifying bottlenecks, moral cooperation, coordination, and improving the quality of news media.
These are some of the ideas I hope to explore here.
